Job Summary:
The Network Security Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of the organization's network infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of network security principles, protocols, and technologies, as well as the ability to implement and maintain effective security measures. The Network Security Administrator will work closely with the IT team to identify and resolve network security issues, perform regular security audits, and develop strategies to safeguard the organization's network.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, implement, and maintain network security measures to protect the organization's network infrastructure from unauthorized access, malware, and other security threats.
2. Monitor the network for security breaches, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activities, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
3. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify potential weaknesses in the network infrastructure.
4. Collaborate with the IT team to develop and implement network security policies, procedures, and best practices.
5. Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other network security tools.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest network security trends, technologies, and vulnerabilities, and propose necessary improvements to ensure the network remains secure.
7. Investigate and resolve network security incidents, working closely with the IT team and other stakeholders to minimize the impact on operations.
8. Develop and deliver network security training and awareness programs to educate employees about security threats and best practices.
9. Perform regular backup and recovery procedures to ensure the availability and integrity of network data.
10. Collaborate with external vendors and other partners to implement and maintain secure network connections.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Proven experience working as a Network Security Administrator or in a similar role.
3. In-depth knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption.
4. Strong understanding of network infrastructure and architecture, including routers, switches, and TCP/IP protocols.
5. Hands-on experience with network security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection systems.
6. Proficient in network penetration testing and vulnerability assessment tools.
7. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to network security, such as ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and GDPR.
8. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve network security issues.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
10. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
